Here we are with third round of eSports WRC and the first gravel event of the season, on the dusty and demanding roads of Mexico!
A very challenging step for the players, with 5 stages to run, and only one Service Park stop, to repair and prepare the car for the last 2 well-known stages of El Brinco and Ibarilla.
The battle is intense on the top of the leaderboard, with a great progress for Speedbooster27. The German driver who ends 3rd in Monte Carlo and 2nd Sweden, reaches the highest step of the podium, showing impressive skills on gravel, and closing the event with an admirable 17:14.038.
After his success in Sweden, the flying French man Nexl follows with a 2.7sec gap, collecting 18 points for the championship standings and saving his 1st position.
Third for Jonno, a further 0.8sec behind, to achieve his first podium, collect 15 points and prove that he will fight again and again positioning himself as a serious candidate for the final win.
But the way to the victory is still long! Germany is still well-represented in the competition, with Johnson and Hesto completing the top 5 of this event, both playing on PC.
At the end of this third round, Nexl keeps the lead of the Championship with a total of 61 points, followed closely by Speedbooster27 on 58 points, overtaking Hesto's 52 [points] thanks to his excellent result here in Mexico.
Let’s train now for the next step of the Championship, when we head back to Europe for a mix of tarmac and gravel, in Corsica from April 6th to 9th.
